Dr. O'Keefe founded the first pediatric allergy clinic in the nation at Massachusetts General Hospital during the 1930's and during World War II he made an important discovery for the treatment of diarrhea.
Besides his wife he leaves 2 daughters, Mrs. John Cowden of New York City and Mrs. Mary Gravalos of Washington, D.C.; 2 sons, Dr. John A. O'Keefe of Washington, D.C. and Dr. Edward S. O'Keefe, Jr. of Seattle, Wash., and a brother, Philip O'Keefe of New York City.
A Requiem High Mass will be celebrated Thursday in St. John's Church.
