Susan was a 1957 graduate of Red Bank Catholic H.S. and attended LaSalle College in Massachusetts. She lived in Little Silver all of her adult life. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Joseph M. Stanton, their daughter, Linda Ellen Stanton, and her son-in-law, John L Rose.
She was a communicant at St James Catholic Church in Red Bank, NJ. Susan could well be considered to be a "jack of many trades, master of all", putting her enthusiasm into any new interest. She excelled at tennis, photography, pottery, painting, and was well known for her cooking and sewing expertise. She enjoyed catering and costuming, and was generous with her talents, lending them to the activities of her husband, children, and grandchildren, assisting with costumes for the Monmouth Civic Chorus, conservatory and school performances.
Her greatest pleasure in recent years was traveling with her sisters, to places near and far. She was a past Girl Scout Troop Leader, actively assisted with the events of the Knights of Columbus, and was retired from Treasure Island, Inc. of Shrewsbury, NJ.
Susan served on the Board of Poricy Park, was a past President of Rebecca's Reel Quilters, and was actively involved in all the Guild's activities.. She was also a member of the Story Weavers Quilt and Book Club. Susan was an emeritus member of the Raskob Foundation for Catholic Activities. For those who knew Susan, hers was a life impossible to encapsulate in the few lines of a farewell, but will she live on in the hearts of those she touched.
