Died at home on Front St., Bay St. Louis, MS. of an acute attack of Bright's disease at the age of 53.

Came to Bay St. Louis in late 1888 and established himself in the mercantile business. In 1890 he became prominent in local political circles., serving 2 terms as city clerk in the 1890's.

At the time of his death he was acting as treasurer of the Bay St. Louis Volunteer Fire Company, and was also a director of the Merchants' Bank of BSL.

In 1872 Mr. Spotorno was married to Miss Mathilda Olivari, and from this union 12 children were born. At the time of his death 10 children and his wife survived.
