Lucy F. Abschneider, age 92, of Santa Fe, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Laurel Court, Alvin, Texas. Lucy was born on December 26, 1922 in the Columbus area and was a member of the Catholic faith and attended Our Lady of Lourdes in Hitchcock, Texas for about 52 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, of 61 years; parents, Leo and Agnes Jurek; 2 sisters; 8 brothers; and grandson, Kevin Teer.
Lucy is survived by her daughters, Georgia Teer and husband, Charles, of Santa Fe, Dorothy Williams and husband, Bob, of Alvin, Texas; sister, Helen Abschneider and husband, Charles, of Alvin, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Laura Teer of Santa Fe, Texas, Teresa O’Hair and husband, George, of Alvin, Texas, Robert Williams and wife, Amy, of Alvin, Texas; 8 great-grandchildren, Morgan Teer, Mason Teer, Daniel Teer of Santa Fe, Texas, Kyle O’Hair, Mya and Megan Smith of Alvin, Texas, Meagan and Jaren O’Hair of Alvin, Texas; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Scott Funeral Home, with a Rosary service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Scott Funeral Home, with Father John Kappe officiating. Interment will follow at West Gethsemane Cemetery, Rosenberg, Texas.
