Donald Lee Claypool, 86, Nevada, MO, passed from this life on Monday, May 11, 2015 at his home in Nevada following a lengthy illness.
Donald was born on September 6, 1928 in Richards, MO, to Raymond Edward and Ida Irene (Streich) Claypool.
On July 4, 1953 he was united in marriage to Jeanette Maus in Nevada and she preceded him in death in 1994.
Donald was raised in the Richards area and attended school in Metz. He graduated from Metz High School with the Class of 1946. Following his school years he began employment at the Nevada State Hospital as a warehouse clerk, working there for over 25 years until his retirement. In addition, Donald also operated a dairy farm for many years. He has resided in Nevada for the past 36 years.
Survivors include his children; one daughter, Phyllis Ellifrits and her husband Arthur, Kingsville, MO; three sons, Phil Claypool and his wife Janice, Liberty, MO, J Claypool of the home, and Larry Claypool and his wife Shelly, Nevada; six grandchildren, Jason, Sonya, Tristan, Zach, Tyler, and Treyton; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Claypool and his wife Lucille, Richards, and Gary and his wife Marilee, Nevada. In addition to his wife Jeanette, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Edward.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Click Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
