Folk Figure. Ella was born with a rare orthopedic condition called congenital genu recurvatum and performed with the W.H. Harris' Nickel Plate Circus under the moniker "The Camel Girl". She quit performing in 1886 and returned home to live a more private life. She had a twin brother (Everett) that died when only a few months old but is not known if he had any deformity also.
