Emulus Brown, 86, Long-Time Kendrick Resident Passes October 15
Emulus R. Brown, a long-time resident of the Kendrick area and a retired employee of the Clearwater Timber Protective Assn., died of the infirmities of age at 6:50 a. m. Wednesday, October 15 at Gritman Hospital in Moscow, where he had been a patient for one day. He was 86.
Even when in his 80's, Brown worked summers for CTPA. He also had been a carpenter, worked in Potlatch Corporation logging camps and for the Idaho Department of Highways.
He was born October 18, 1888 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of John and Martha Brown. He moved in his youth to the Kendrick area.
He married Bessie Brown at Cameron July 7, 1915 with the Rev. Geo. Finke officiating. Mrs. Brown died in 1850.
Survivors include three sons, Clarence of Seattle, Tom of Spokane and Jerry of Kendrick; three daughters, Mrs. Rosebud Rukgaber of Fullerton, Calif., Mrs. Evelyn Bortner of Palos Verdes, Calif., Mrs. June Snyder of Manassas, Va.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a brother, William Brown of Garberville, California.
Services were conducted from the Bower-Wann Chapel in Lewiston Saturday afternoon, Oct. 18, with the Rev. Steve Caskey of the Kendrick United Methodist Church officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Richard Morton and vocalists were Marilyn Eichner and Lucille Magnuson.
Pallbearers were Donald Eichner, Ben P. Cook, R. L. Blewett, Milford Osborn, Harley Eichner and Ed Brown.
The family suggests those wishing may make contributions to the Juliaetta-Kendrick ambulance fund.
