Jane "Jennie" Collett was the child of Sarah
"Sally" Collett. The 1900
Census, states that she was born April 1822 in Clay
County, Kentucky.

According to Jane's application for a widow's pension,
she & John Sizemore were married at the home of William Begley,(by William Begley), Justice of the Peace, on
March 24, 1839, in Perry County, Kentucky.

A copy of their Marriage License was submitted with
Jane's Pension application (transcribed as follows:)

State of Kentucky
County of Perry

I hereby Certify that bond and security has been taken in my
office for a Marriage intended between John Scisemore and Jane Asher. These are therefore to license and permit you to Join together in the Holy State of Matrimony the said John Scisemore and Jane according to the rites and Ceremonies of your church and for so doing this shall be your sufficient Warrant.

Witness Jesse Combs Clerk of the County Court of Perry County aforesaid this the 24th day of March 1839.

Jesse Combs was the Court Clerk of Perry County, KY from 1821-1874. He was the husband of Polly Bowling. Polly was the d/o John E. Bowling and Susan (Sizemore) Bowling.

Wm Begley was the husband of Winnie Sizemore,
d/o George All Sizemore. Some sources say he served as Justice of the Peace from 1824-1829 however, this marriage preformed & signed by him on March 24, 1839, contradicts that theory.
