GREENSBORO - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Moore Hilton Tedder, 99, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A Rockingham County native, Mrs. Tedder was born Aug. 10, 1906, a daughter of the late Joel H. and Essie Thompson Moore. She was an active member of Stokesdale Christian Church as long as her health permitted, and retired from Blue Bell Inc. after 37 1/2 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert E. Hilton, G.C. Goode and Chester Tedder; a daughter, Essie H. Craver; a son, J.J. Hilton; sisters Bessie Bradshaw, Claudia Moore, Ruby Martin and Reba Mavis; and brothers Joel Moore, Hunter Moore, Thomas Moore, Pat Moore and Alfred Moore. Surviving are daughters Thelma H. Bray of Greensboro and Imajean H. Reid (Rex) of Winston-Salem; son Paul E. Hilton (Frankie) of Greensboro; stepdaughter Mae Carroll of Greensboro; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ida Evans of McLeansville. Mrs. Tedder's funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, at Stokesdale Christian Church, with the Rev. Dexter L. Simpson and Mr. Larry Burgess officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church, and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
