Graveside services for Eugene Charles Hastings, 14, of Elmendorf Air Force Base, will be held Saturday in Sandy, Utah. A memorial service was held Monday at the Baxter LDS Chapel.

Eugene died Jan. 18 in Anchorage after being struck by a vehicle on Jan. 17. His family made several of his organs available for donation.

Born Dec. 29, 1972, in Salmouth [Falmouth], Mass., he was a student at Central ABC School and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, 14th Ward, where he was a deacon. He was also a Boy Scout, second class, with Troop No. 52 and earned many merit badges and skill awards.

He leaves his parents, Charles and Jean, his brothers, Charles Reynolds, Jr., and Russell Don, and his sister, Donna Jean, all of Anchorage; and his grandmothers, Laura Hastings of West Bountiful, Utah, and Julie Steele of Spanish Fork, Utah.

Burial will be in the Sunset Gardens of the Valley Cemetery in Sandy, Utah.
