Phillips B. Powell, 87, of College Hill, co-owner and manager of Powell Gardens, died Tuesday in Faxton Hospital.
Mr. Powell, a Clinton native, attended private school in Clinton and also attended Stanford and Cornell Universities for courses in entomology.
He married Bessie Yale of Deansboro on November 24, 1921. She died in 1959.
