Mary Jane Masden, wife of DeWitt M. Masden, passed away Aug. 5, 1922 at Oakland, California. She was buried from the home of her sister, Mrs. John P. Sheldon, in this city on Friday, Aug. 11, at 2:30 pm, the remains being taken to Union Grove ceemtery.
Mrs. Masden was born at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Walker in Willow Springs on Dec. 3, 1871, and united in marriage to DeWitte M. Madsen at her parents hom in Mineral Point, April 23, 1908.
Mrs. Masden is well known in this community by having graduated from the Mineral Point High school and the Platteville Normal. She taught in the district school at Willow Springs and Minerl Point and also at Milwaukee.
She is survived by her husband DeWitt M. Masden and five sisters and two brothers: Mrs. John P. Sheldon and Mrs. Elizabeth Calvert, Darlington, Mrs. Charles Johnston, Willow Springs, Mrs. Minnie Chenall, Maurice, Iowa, Mrs. Alfred Rogers, Aurora, Ill., Chas. Walker, Willow Springs and A.J. Walker, Mineral Point.

A.J. Walker of this city has recived word of the death of his sister, Mrs. Dewitt Masden, at Oakland, Calif., Saturday Aug. 5th. Mrs. Masden was formerly, Miss Jane Walker of Mineral Point. The remains were brought to Darlington this week for burial.
