Dorothy L. Michaels was the first wife of famous author Robert Nathan. Dorothy was from Rochester, New York and attended Wellesley College. Robert was from New York City and attended Harvard University. They both dropped out and married in Cambridge, Mass. in June 1915. They moved to New York City and their daughter Joan was born in December 1915. Dorothy and Robert divorced in 1922. Dorothy later married Richard Pratt.
