Thomas Nathan Tilford, 77 years old, familiarly known as "Uncle Tom," died at the home of his son, "Ed" Ernest Tilford at Rockport at 4:45 o'clock Monday afternoon after a five-day illness of complications. Mr. Tilford had operated a meat market at Rockport for many years. Since retirement a few years ago he had made his home with his sons and daughters. He is survived by one brother, William McClellan Tilford, of Finley, Tenn; three sons, Fred and Ernest Tilford of Rockport, Owen Tilford of Louisville; one daughter, Mrs mable Iler, of Rockport; a number of grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife, Mrs Anne Williams Tilford preceded him in death by some thirty years. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church, with the Rev. J. H. Boswell of Centertown officiating. Burial was in the Rockport Cemetery.
